Understand the roles of health disciplines Essay
Understand the roles of health disciplines - Essay Example Interdisciplinary approach refers to a combination of a number of technologies, professions, departments in industry or business. It is a model favored and used to solve some of the complex problems in the modern society. In health care the approach has seen an improvement of patient satisfaction, reduction in costs and morbidity (Allen and Nora, 2006). It also enhances relationships between various professionals in addition to overall satisfaction of the employees. Nevertheless there are a number of challenges including administrative constraints, lack of leadership etc but these difficulties cannot last a life time as efforts to try and educate the people early enough would effectively address these challenges. In order to solve some of the complex problems in the society there have been attempts to forge relationship between the various disciplines (Fleming, 2009). In the past, knowledge was perceived as whole but soon various disciplines started to gain individuality with each claiming to have a particular set of requirements, language and rules. However with time the various professions realize the importance of cooperation primarily to tackle complex problems and situations in the society. A multidisciplinary approach is whereby several disciplines are involved in solving societal problems. The individual disciplines do not lose their distinctiveness. One discipline known as the root discipline incorporates other disciplines to solve a problem. This means perspectives being shared are meant for the service of the root discipline (McGregor, 2004). In this approach knowledge is transferre d between disciplines as the group share assumptions and approaches for a better understanding of a problem. The end result is getting solutions to complex problems in society and the enhancement of views and perspectives of the various

Even other noted information was vastly diverse. Due to the diversity of the group in educational background, line of employment, and interests, the topics that could be of interest to the batch could be current events, especially one that is controversial in nature; or a general topic that could appeal to all: food, health, love, or relationships, to name a few. These suggested topics could be tackled with enough authoritative research and by establishing a thesis statement to determine which point of view or contention one would propose. For instance, a current controversial topic on gun ban or gun control could be a subject of discussion based on the amount of current news articles written on the subject. Hypertension and Coronary Artery Disease Research Paper
Hypertension and Coronary Artery Disease - Research Paper Example All the participants were subjects with stage 1 hypertension. They were university and hospital employees. All of them were on no medications, and they received standard lifestyle interventions by the nurses. The participants were randomised, and half of them were assigned randomly to story-centred care. Their blood pressures were measured for 24 hours four times at 8-week intervals, twice before and twice following the intervention. The data collected were compared through statistical analysis. Subjects who received story-centred care were found to have a statistically significant greater decrease in the awake systolic blood pressure over this period of 6 months of study. However, with this intervention, there was no significant alteration of sleep systolic or diastolic blood pressure. It was concluded that story-centred care as a nursing intervention can augment the effects of lifestyle interventions in reducing awake hypertension in type 1 hypertensive patients. Therefore, story-c entred nursing intervention may be integrated with the nursing management of patients with hypertension (Liehr et al., 2006, 16-21). It targets urban millennial who connect with creativity and who have the belief that the future is not written but to be created, which they can together with helping shape society. Its TV adverts run in sixty or ninety seconds of the three featuring together doing their work with thirty seconds spots for each of the artists. The online advertising appears on sites related to creative disciplines that the four artists work in, including music, design and fashion. The social media campaign involves engagement and outreach through the brandââ¬â¢s Twitter and Face book accounts, also through other artistic communitiesââ¬â¢ sites. From this promotional campaign, I think Absolut is in a bid to change its image as perceived by every member of the society. The approach is wisely calculated to draw every member of the societyââ¬â¢s positive perception of its intent. The campaign casts an overall image of responsibility and positive thinking and action that would ultimately benefit the individual and society. It comes about as trying to shake off
